‘Thinking of it now makes me hungry again, even though full of supper and ready for sleep…’
Good news everyone! I’m pleased to say that Firewords Magazine, the anthology of fiery fiction and poetry, has published my short story, ‘Bonne Femme’.
If you haven’t seen a copy previously I’d strongly recommend picking one up. The thing that sets Firewords apart from the pack for me is just how beautiful it is – the attention to detail that editors Dan and Jen put into the magazine is plain to see, with gorgeous visuals and words dripping from the pages throughout. My piece forms part of their ninth issue, which has the theme of ‘Perspective’ and is on sale now. You can find out more and buy a copy on the Firewords website.
I only hope that my story, ‘Bonne Femme‘, does it justice! It’s a dark little tale about service, exploitation and envy – I hope you like it.
Final hat tip goes to Cat Finnie, who produced a stunning visual accompaniment for my piece which can be seen above. It captures the tone of the story perfectly! Cat is an illustrator and graphic designer based in London – you can find out more about her work on her website.
Have you read ‘Bonne Femme‘? Do let me know what you think!
